Doris J Gruccio

Doris Jane (Wilent) Gruccio, 94, of Vineland passed away on January 27, 2025. A native of Philadelphia, Doris graduated from Drexel University in 1952 and later earned her Master's Degree in Student Counseling from Glassboro State College. She was a stay-at-home mother until her children went to school then became a Guidance Counselor at Our Lady of Mercy Academy.
Doris's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a troop leader for her children in the Girl Scouts and the Webelos. She spent the summers with her children and grandchildren at her home in Sea Isle City. She enjoyed traveling, reading, playing bridge, musical theater, Philadelphia Eagles football, and ceramics.
She is survived by her daughters, Christina and husband James Vouros, Diane, Barbara, and Lisa; son Philip and wife Denise; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jeffrey and wife Johanna, Nicholas, Madeleine, Matthew, Phoebe, and Hannah; great-grandchildren, Bennett and Cora; sister Claire and husband Roland Perez. She is also survived by her beloved canine companion Stella. She is predeceased by her husband Philip Gruccio to whom she was married for 65 years; her parents George and Jane Wilent; and her sister Ruth and husband Fred Heaney.
A private service will be held on February 1, 2025. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
