Doris M. Kilcarr of Pearl River, N.Y. died on December 15, 2024. Doris was born in Jersey City, N.J. on October 21, 1923, to John and Mary Cochrane. The family moved to Glen Rock N.J. and Doris graduated from Ridgewood H.S. in 1941. Doris met a wonderful man, Myles Kilcarr during the war and he swept her off her feet. The were married in 1949 and lived in Fairlawn N.J. until 1957 when they moved to Pearl River N.Y.
Doris was a wonderful, caring mother and raised their 3 children. When her children were of school age she went to work for the Pearl River school district as an aid. Doris loved to travel; she has been all over the world. She was also an avid reader and loved cross word puzzles, which kept her mind sharp for her 101 years. She is best remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness. Always remembering other's names and asking after their families.
Doris is survived by her daughters Patricia (Dennis) Fredrickson, Jane (Kevin) Stokes and son Robert (Sharon) Kilcarr, her 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, also her niece Deborah Pomeroy Azzarone and many nieces and nephews.
Doris is predeceased by her husband Myles Kilcarr, her parents John and Mary Cochrane, brother Robert Cochrane, sister Marion Pomeroy and her grandson Timothy (TJ) Kilcarr.
