Doris Benear Krick
August 25, 1943 March 4, 2025
Doris Benear Krick, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025 at the age of 81. She was born on August 25,1943 to Glenn and Marie Benear.
Doris grew up in Madera and graduated from Madera High School in 1961. As a teen, she regularly attended dances at the Big Fresno Barn with her family. Doris and her sisters shared a love for dancing and these gatherings were a cherished part of her early years, filled with music, laughter, and community.
Doris dedicated most of her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. She also worked for many years at the Oh Boy Drive-In.
She found joy in fishing, camping and trips to Reno. Later in life, she loved playing Bingo at the Frank Bergon Senior Center and trips to Table Mountain. In her 50s, Doris married the love of her life, Allen Krick and they shared years of happiness until his passing. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family and friends, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. She described her perfect day as having her three boys and grandchildren at the house for dinner.
Doris is survived by her sons, Michael Carmack (Yvette), Greg Woods (Stacy), and John Hardin (Lisa). She was a proud grandmother toKayla Hardin, Zacharia Bell (Kelsey), Jake Carmack, Stetson Woods, Megan Hardin and Karsyn Perkins (Luke), as well as a loving great-grandmother to Elizabeth, Kai and Emile. She is also survived by her sisters, Hazel Cabral, Betty Eledge (Howard), and Patty Ladd, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Allen Krick.
Doris will be remembered for her love of family, sense of humor and the joy she brought to those around her. A viewing is scheduled forMonday March 10th from 4-6 pmat Jay Chapel. Graveside services will be heldon Tuesday March 11th at 11amat Arbor Vitae Cemetery followed by a celebration of life at San Joaquin Winery.
She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
