Doris Ann Long

Doris Ann Long, age 83, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025.

Born in Seaford on March 9, 1942, the daughter of Norman and Ethel (Wallace) Hastings. She graduated from Seaford High School in 1960. She married her husband, Lee, in 1965 and moved with him to Wyoming, DE where they build a house next to his family farm. Lee passed away in 1981, and Doris moved back to Seaford in 1982 to be near her family.

Doris worked until she was 78 years old. She worked at Woolworth's in Seaford in her younger years, drove a school bus in the 70s until her husband passed away, then worked over the years for P.I.E., Yellow Freight, H&M Bay, and Pyramid Transport in the accounts payable department.

Doris is survived by her daughter, LeAnne Chaffinch and Husband Earl, granddaughter, Brooke Brittingham (Kris Kirwan), great granddaughter, Savannah Brittingham, sister, Emma Messick, her best friend for many many years, Lula Hudson, and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Long, parents Norman and Ethel Hastings, brother, Frank Hastings, and sisters, Geneva Johnson, Helen Hastings, Ruth Wheatley, and Norma Lee Kelley.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 12:00 PM with a public viewing from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N Shipley Street, Seaford, DE. Interment will be private.
