Doris A. McAninch, 73, died Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. She was born in Tallahassee, FL, USA on the 26th of December, 1951. Doris, a humble soul, was a pillar of resilience, and her strength was an inspiration to those fortunate enough to know her. A dedicated woman who gave her heart wholly to her children. She was a treasure cherished by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she loved spending time. Doris was always there to lend a helping hand to her children.
Doris was preceded in death by her father, Albert Yeager, her mother, Norma (Goodman) Yeager, and her sister, Vicky Yeager. Their memories continue to light up the path she walked on, guiding her throughout her life journey.
A cherished light has gone out in the world, but Doris' spirit lives on in those she left behind. She is survived by her siblings Charlene McCubbin (Danny), Barbara Tamte, Albert Jr., Larry Yeager and Johnny (Sandy). Her legacy continues through her children, Melissa Carroll, Rodney Carroll, and Jeremy Carroll, along with her beloved grandchildren Brandi Carroll, Amber Carroll, Aiden Carroll, Alivia Carroll, Ashton Eckart, Alexis Eckart, and Katie Hieatt and great-grandchildren Liam, Alaina and Malachi.
A resilient woman till the end, Doris had a passion for life that was evident in her hobbies. She was an avid mushroom hunter and gardener, and found joy in reading and visiting yard sales. A huge fan of detective TV shows, Doris spent countless hours lost in the thrilling mysteries that unfolded on her screen. She spent many years working in food services, a testament to her dedication and work ethic.
