Doris Drury McCahill

Doris Drury McCahill passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 79. She was born on Friday, December 21, 1945 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Rose Pierson Drury and Steve J. Drury, Jr. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Doris will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, fishing, gardening and cooking some of the most amazing meals shared and enjoyed by her family and friends. She was blessed with artistic talent and enjoyed painting and crafting. Doris will be remembered by many for her years spent on as a bus driver for the Tangipahoa School System. She was part of a tight knit community located on the outskirts of Woodville, MS at Lake Mary, where she enjoyed participating in cookouts, get-togethers and fishing with family and friends.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Cindy McCahill DeJean (Leon), Erin McCahill Boyd (Jason), Paula McCahill Bowers (Simon); grandchildren, Hunter DeJean (Katie), Hayden DeJean, and Abby Boyd; great-grandchild, Kash DeJean; and brother, Steve R. Drury.

In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, John Renhard McCahill.
