Doris McFarland

Doris C. McFarland of East Falmouth passed away in her home December 17, 2025 at the age of 90. Doris was born in South Boston, MA on July 4, 1935, the daughter to Alice (Spratt) and Jeremiah Driscoll. Growing up she was one of four, her brothers and sisters being the late Gerard Driscoll, Alice Norton, and Fredrick Driscoll.

She was raised and educated South Boston attending The Gate of Heaven school. Shortly after graduating, she met the love of her life John (Mike) McFarland, worked at the New England Telephone company for many years, while raising her family in Braintree. John and Doris spent their golden years retiring in Falmouth MA, where they spent many years and made many memories celebrating her birthday on the fourth.

Doris was married for 60 wonderful years to her late husband John P McFarland. She was a devoted mother to her four children, predeceased by her sons John and Michael McFarland, and survived by her two daughters Michele Priestly, as well as Doris and her husband William O'Sullivan of Falmouth. Doris loved spending time with her family, dogs, and friends, and was a lover of bingo, playing cards, hitting the casino, and going out to eat. The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her family, and her signature send of was always "love you more".

She is survived by her grandchildren Lauren Simpson, Michael McFarland, Christine Morelli, Katie Craig, Holly O'Sullivan, and Kayla Sheehan as well as her great grandchildren Ethan Simpson, Allyson Simpson, and John Simpson.

Visiting hours will begin at 9:00am Monday December 22, 2025 in Chapman Funeral and Cremations 475 Main Street Falmouth.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick's Church Falmouth at 11:00am.

Burial will follow the Mass in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
