John C. Judge, 88, passed away on December 10, 2025, four days before his 89th birthday. John developed Parkinson's Disease later in life, and died thanking others for their love, friendship, and support.
John was born in
Waltham, MA to Clement and Catherine (Collins) Judge on December 14, 1936. He attended St. Mary's and Waltham High School. John attended Colby College, playing football and hockey. He later graduated from Boston University with a degree in English Literature. John went on to teach at Bedford High and coach football for many years until his retirement in 1996.
John and his wife, Paula (Kamataris) Judge were married in 1979 and were blessed with 46 years of marriage. Their son, Matthew, was born in 1981 and became their life's joy and dedication. The first 20 years, living in Falmouth, John ran the Falmouth Road Race. The best year being the year Matthew ran with him. John loved traveling to Maine,
Myrtle Beach, SC and most recently
Miramar, FL. John also enjoyed shell fishing for many years.
Like many teachers, John enjoyed a seasonal job in Woods Hole, and later driving for White Tie, meeting various authors whom he enjoyed chatting with.
John leaves his wife Paula Judge, of Mashpee, MA; his son Matthew Judge, and his wife Fernanda, of
Miramar, FL; his grandsons Sebastian Judge, and Santiago Judge, of
Miramar, FL; his sister Carol Hawthorne, of Naples, FL; his sisters-in-law Ann Rennie, and her husband Stephen, of North
Falmouth, MA, Jayne Reeves, and her husband Craig, of East
Falmouth, MA, and Cheryl Kamataris of East
Falmouth, MA; and his many nieces and nephews that brought fun, laughter, love and happiness - Elizabeth Balboni, and her husband Nicholas, of Weymouth, MA, Caroline Rennie, of Boston, MA, Sarah Greer and her husband Brian, of Sandwich, MA; Kaelin Greer, of Sandwich, MA, Stella Greer, of Sandwich, MA, Alexandra Kamataris, of East
Falmouth, MA, Audrey Kamataris, of East
Falmouth, MA, Dante Kamataris, of East
Falmouth, MA, Jennifer Pomroy and her husband Travis, of Hawaii, Ryder Pomroy, of Hawaii, Ruby Pomroy, of Hawaii, Harry Kamataris, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Katie Kamataris, of Johns Island, SC, and David Kamataris, of Venice, CA.
John is predeceased by his parents, Clement and Catherine Judge, his father-in-law Harry A, Kamataris, mother-in-law Audrey Kamataris, brothers-in-laws Harry L. Kamataris, John P. Kamataris, and William Hawthorne.
There will be a Celebration of John's life on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church, 68 Main St., in Falmouth. Burial will immediately follow at the North Falmouth Cemetery on Old Main Rd., in North Falmouth.
