Doris Ellison Miller

Mrs. Doris Maxine Ellison Miller, 85, of Temple, Georgia, passed away March 4, 2026 at her home surrounded by family.

Doris was born August 31, 1940 in Dallas, Georgia, the daughter of the late Homer Ellison and the late Bertha Paris Ellison. She spent her life creating a loving home for her family. Doris enjoyed gardening, sewing and creating quilts. She found joy in the kitchen as well, where she loved cooking and baking, especially fried pies. She was also a member of Concord Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband Loy Dean Miller and great grandson, William Dunmire.

She is survived by her children, Marvin Miller (Teresa) of Temple, GA, Philip Miller (Tracy Ashley), Karen Miller of Douglasville, GA, Arleen Shoemake, Daryl Miller (Amy) of Temple, Georgia. Her brother, Frank Ellison of Villa Rica, GA. Along with thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 6, 2026, at J. Collins Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday, March 7, 2026 from Concord Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Joey Dedman and Rev. Sammy Clark officiating.

Interment will follow at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Michael Hulsey, Ryan Radley, Randall Miller, Sawyer Miller, Jordan Miller, and Zack Blackburn serving as pallbearers.
