Doris Morgan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 23, 2026.
Colonie - Doris Althea Schneider Morgan, 96, of Colonie, New York, entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 20, 2026. Born on August 31, 1929, Doris was the beloved daughter of the late George W. Schneider, Jr. and Cornelia M. Rifenburgh Schneider.

Doris grew up in Livingston, New York, surrounded by a large and loving extended family. She graduated from Hudson High School in Hudson, NY, and at the age of 18 moved to Albany, where she began working as an admissions secretary at Albany Medical Center. During that same year, Doris made the life-defining decision to accept Jesus Christ as her personal Savior - a commitment that faithfully guided the rest of her life.

Shortly after moving to Albany, Doris met Paul Curtis Morgan, Sr. They were married for 58 years and made their home in Colonie, where they remained in their first home for more than 70 years, building a life marked by devotion, hospitality, and ministry.

Doris was a woman of creativity, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit. She operated Weddings by Doris, catering countless weddings and special events with care and excellence. Her heart for ministry was evident in every season of her life. For 20 years she faithfully taught Bible studies at the Daughters of Sarah nursing home. She founded and published The Believer, a Christian newspaper distributed throughout New York. She also led an over-35 singles group and held monthly themed luncheons at her home that created community for many.

Her home and life were always open to others. Doris hosted hundreds of international students over the years and served faithfully with the Seafarer's Ministry at Port Canaveral and the Albany Maritime Ministry at the Port of Albany, extending Christ's love to people from around the world.

Doris and Paul were a founding family of Loudonville Community Church, where they served and worshipped for many years. They were also instrumental in establishing Loudonville Christian School in 1960.

Doris will be remembered for her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, her boundless hospitality, and her tireless dedication to serving others. Her life was a living testimony of the Galatians 5:13 scripture to "serve one another humbly in love".

Doris greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her son, P. Curtis (Linda) Morgan, Jr. of West Sand Lake, NY; and her two daughters, Valerie (Keith) Horn of Rochester, NY and Alyson (Kevin) Willsie of Averill Park, NY. She was a loving grandmother to Alyson (Sergio) Mazza, Erin (Benjamin) Lineman, P. Curtis (Tiffany) Morgan, III, Evan (Brittany) Willsie, Conor (Haley) Willsie, Aidan (Amanda) Willsie, and Kaitlyn Willsie. She was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren Gabriel, Rosalina and Alma Doris Mazza; Winter Grace Morgan; Elijah, Abigail, Naomi Grace and Esther Lineman; and Hudson Willsie, all of whom were a special joy in her life. Doris was predeceased by her son George "Scott" Morgan who has resided in Heaven since June 18, 1990.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Loudonville Community Church, 374 Loudon Road, Loudonville, NY 12211, on Saturday, February 28th at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Livingston Cemetery in Livingston, NY, on Saturday, March 7th at 10:30 a.m.
