Doris M. Norlund, age 87, of North Branch, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Fairview University Hospital in Minneapolis.
Doris was born to Arnold and Alice (Bjork) Anton on November 21, 1936 in Rush City, Minnesota. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from North Branch High School. She married Clemens G. Norlund on October 29, 1955, and had a daughter, Sheila. In Doris's earlier years, she worked at Groves Kelco. After Sheila was born, she was a stay-at-home mother. When Sheila was older, she started selling Fuller Brush and cleaning houses.
Doris enjoyed square dancing, camping, playing games, watching her birds, snuggling with her kitties, and loved a good chat. She was fiercely independent, caring, and incredibly outgoing with a rich social life until the very end.
Doris is survived by her daughter Sheila (Mark), grandchildren Marcus (Kelsey), Sarah, her sisters, Margie, Marilyn (David), her two cats, and many other relatives and friends. Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband Clemens, her parents, companion Leland Herberg, brother, George, sisters, Marion, and Myrtle and her infant twin sister.
Doris was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. You will be deeply missed. We love you!
A visitation will take place starting at 12 noon on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
