Doris J. Owens

Doris J. Owens, age 90, from Cherry Hill, NJ passed away at Care One Assisted Living on August 17, 2023. She was born in Woodbury, New Jersey on September 22, 1932 to Jacob and Alice Wekerle. She was recently widowed by her husband Clifford Owens. Her only sister, Lillian Robert is also deceased. She is survived by her niece, Sandra Hobbs and husband, Fred Hobbs, and their children Mark Hobbs and Matthew Hobbs and their families.
Doris and Cliff met when he was in the Navy and was stationed nearby. They lived in Woodbury for many years before moving to Cherry Hill. Doris worked in the office at Langston's Corporation in Cherry Hill until cuts were made to staff and she volunteered to leave her job so someone else could stay. She and Clifford spent many summers at their second home on the Sweetwater River in New Jersey where they enjoyed water skiing. In their retirement years they enjoyed winters in Arizona.
At her request there will be no services. Donations in her memory may be made to the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, NJ.
