Doris Rakow

Doris Rakow passed away on July 18, 2024, in Salem, OR at the age of 89. She was born to Iva and Frank Freitag in Scio, OR in November 1934 and is survived by daughters, Debbie Christie of Salem, OR, and Sharon Tapia (Ernie) of Carmichael, CA, brother, Robert Freitag of Lebanon, OR, four grandchildren children, and three great grandchildren. She joins in heaven her parents, sister Grace Lindsley, and former husband Don Rakow. Doris was a long-time resident of Northern California, and relocated to Salem, Oregon in 1992. She was a homemaker and nutritionist, who especially loved reading, her daily walks, and spending time with family and friends. She was a special gift to those who knew her well and had a special love for animals, especially dogs.
Services will be held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Lebanon, OR on July 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Oregon Humane Society Salem Campus in Doris' name are warmly welcomed.
