Doris G. Robida, 85, of Saco, Maine, died peacefully on June 6, 2023, after a brief illness.
She was born in Biddeford, Maine, on June 25, 1937, to Oscar and Marie Bernier, who passed away in 1968 and 1983 respectively.
She was educated at St. Andres school through the 8th grade. She married Raymond E. Robida on October 5th, 1957, who passed away on August 18, 2012.
Doris Robida was kind and generous and was loved by everyone she met. She babysat children in her home, worked in shoe shops, and eventually worked at Hannaford in Biddeford until she retired after 20 years in 2001.
Retirement was bittersweet as she loved interacting with her coworkers and customers. It seemed as though she knew everyone in Biddeford.
She loved to knit, sew, and quilt in her spare time.
Doris is lovingly survived by her four children, Bruce Robida and his wife, Susan; Carmen Applin; Charlene Carr; and Daniel Robida.
Doris is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Jeffrey and his partner, Ashlie Macintosh; Jill and her partner, Lane Gibson; Craig, Faith, Lydia; Matthew and his wife Candice; Phillip, Samantha and her partner, Kenji; Adele and her husband, Jerry Ravanis; Brooke and her husband, Adam Mailhiot; Allison and her husband, Keith Liberty; Zachary and his partner, Daniell Doucette; six great-grandchildren, Trinity, Emma, Hailie, AnnaLeigh, and soon-to-be, Casey Thomas and Camilla Parker, as well as her brother, Richard Bernier, his wife, Keri; along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Doris is predeceased by her brother, Normand Bernier, and twin sister, Dolly Lajoie.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Outside of Mass at 11:00 am at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford; burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Street Biddeford.
