Doris M. Smith, 95, of North Wildwood, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on March 30, 2024, at St. Joseph Manor in Abington, PA. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph M. Smith Jr. They were happily married for over 60 years. Doris was the mother of William, the late Joseph M. Smith III (wife Sharon), and the late Diane Smith. She was the grandmother of Amber Brender (husband Adam), Eric Smith, and great-grandmother of Kaia Brender. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Vivian Davis, nieces Peggy and Shannon Belanger, nephews John Seixis and William Belanger, and by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her sister Joan Seixis.
Doris was a cornerstone of her family, playing an integral role in raising her own children and grandchildren. Her impact on their lives is immeasurable, and her legacy will continue to thrive through the generations she touched. She was also a compassionate caregiver to many, always ready to lend a helping hand and provide comfort to those in need. Her reliability and unwavering support made her a cherished friend to many.
She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, with a passion for travel and fond memories of trips to Spain and Hawaii. Most of all, she loved being with her own family.
A Life Celebration will be held in honor of Doris on Thursday, April 4th, from 11 am to 12 pm, at John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home, 10975 Academy Rd, Philadelphia, PA. Doris' funeral service will follow at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
