Doris A. Snedegar

Doris A. Snedegar, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the age of 101. She was born May 9, 1923, the daughter of the late Roy and Mabel Thomas Thaxton, in Gallia County, Ohio. She shared the same date of birth as her father and her niece, Wilma Thaxton. Doris married Robert "Bob" Snedegar May 30, 1944, who precedes her in death.
She loved to garden and she was especially proud of her iris's. Doris was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Porter, Ohio and spent many rewarding hours with her church family.
She is survived by two daughters: Mary (Roger) Hill and Jane (Cary) Hakes, both of Grove City, Ohio as well as grandchildren: Leah Hakes, Terry Snedegar, Christina Hakes, Rebecca, Rachel and Elizabeth Hill. Also surviving are great-grandchildren: Erin Gallagher, Maria and William Uhrig, Cheyanne Wotring, Ashton and Aaron Hill, Emily and Alex Snedegar and Addyson Stanley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by son, Bill Snedegar, daughter, Barbara Jean Hill, grandson, Benjamin Hill and siblings, Earl and Edwin Thaxton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, December 6, 2024, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. Burial will follow in Campaign Cemetery, Gallipolis, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday 10:00-11:00 AM.
