Doris A. Witt

Doris A. (Donahey) Witt 91 wife of the late Benjamin H. Witt Jr passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Lucia (Blais) Donahey Jr. Born in Rhode Island where she raised her six children.

Doris was a receptionist for Kent County VNA, and became an AIDS & STD Triage Coordinator at St. Joseph's Hospital. Upon retirement Doris served as a volunteer at Foster Grandparent Program at Cedar Hill School in Warwick where she was affectionately known as Grandma Doris by the children.

Family, friends, and faith were the center of her life. She adored spending time with her friends at Sparrow Point. Most of all Doris loved celebrating each holiday with family and friends.

Doris is survived by her loving children, Linda M. Anthony, Michael F. Witt and his wife Cheryl, Sheila Tatangelo, Heidi Maloney and her husband Jason, Shawn M. Witt and his husband Javier, and her daughter-in-law Sandra Witt. She was the mother of the late Benjamin H. Witt III, and mother-in-law of the late Leo Tatangelo. She was the adoring grandmother of eleven: Benjamin, Michelle, Jeffrey, Melisa, Joseph, Michaela, Juliana, Raymond, Brycen, Kiara, the late George Christian Anthony and great grandmother of thirteen.

Doris's visitation will be held on Sunday January 25, 2026, from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m. in the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick, followed by a Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
