Dorma J. Cordry, 93, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:55 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2025 at Silver Oaks Health Campus.
Dorma was born January 13, 1932, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Dale and Mina Quillen Barkes. On April 9, 1949 she married John Dale Cordry.
Mrs. Cordry worked at Arvin Industries for many years before retiring. She enjoyed needlework and was a member of the German Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxillary. In her spare time, Dorma liked to bowl. She was a member of the Columbus Women's Bowling Association and also a hall of fame inductee.
Survivors include her son, Michail (Pamela J.) Cordry, granddaughters, Heather Carnes, Emily (Josh) Patterson, all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Katie Scarlett Carnes, Gemma Rosalee Patterson, Arlo Michail Patterson; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Barkes and Nancy Jo Cordry, both of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; grandson, Charles Neil Cordry; sister, Barbara Hilderbrand and brother, Richard Barkes.
In keeping with the family's request, cremation will take place and there is not a service planned at this time.
Inurnment will take place at Old Union Cemetery where John and Dorma will be laid to rest together.
Memorial contributions may be made to the German Township Volunteer Fire Department.

We are so sorry to hear of Dorma´s passing. She was always such a sweet lady and a wonderful neighbor. We will always think of Animal World and the little Peanut when thinking of her. We know She and John are together again. May you find comfort in memories of your time together.
