Dorothea A. Berthoud

Dorothea Ann Berthoud née Denton, beloved mother to Cheri Downs, Jeri Dias, Barbara Swart, Gordon Berthoud, and Helene Hipple plus grandmother, great-grandmother, and even great- great-grandmother to more than 200 progeny, passed away April 29, 2025, in West Plains, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Veryle Lee Berthoud and multiple grandchildren.
Dorothea was a very intelligent and creative woman. Her musical talents gave enjoyment to her family and friends as well as to her church. She was an active genealogist throughout her life, serving as a Family History Missionary for 12 years in Salt Lake City, UT. Dorothea was a warm, giving person sharing her open heart and knowledge with family and friends. She will be sorely missed by all who have known and loved her.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel in Philipsburg, Montana, a former home, with interment following at the Philipsburg Cemetery. A 'Celebration of Life' will be held at a later date in West Plains, Missouri, where she has lived in recent years.
