Dorothea Florence Maddox, 94, Camby, passed away on November 10, 2025. Mrs. Maddox was born on October 26, 1931, in Carrollton, Kentucky, to the late Robert and Mary Bahm Barnett. She married the late Charles E. Maddox on September 6, 1947, and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2011.
Mrs. Maddox attended high school in Indianapolis. Along with her late husband, she was the owner and operator of C&D Market for many years. After selling the store in 1975, she became employed at House of a Million Screws, which became Service Supply Company. Strongly devoted to her family, Dorothea was a devoted mother and adored all of her grandchildren. She was an avid crocheter and loved to go carp fishing with Chuck. She was also a proud homemaker, an excellent cook, and an accomplished baker. Her memory will be forever cherished by her loving family.
In addition to Chuck and her parents, she was preceded in death by children, Timothy Joe Maddox and Linda Darlene Bennett; and all of siblings, Don, Robert, Charles, Barbara, and Helen.
Survivors include her children, Gary Lee (Debra Ann) Maddox, Charles C. Maddox, Deborah Lynn Maddox-Lybarger, Thomas Dee Maddox, and Dean Edward Maddox. 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and a host of great great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. The funeral service will begin at 12 Noon, on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
