Dorothy A. Barker, 86, of Deerfield Twp. passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Born in West Virginia to the late Lee Ward and Beulah Francis Vaughn Ward, she had been the wife of the late Howard Barker for over 50 years. She had been a Cumberland County resident most of her life, residing at the same residence for almost 60 years. Dorothy had worked in the Glass industry for over 30 years, retiring from Foster-Forbes Glass Co.
In her free time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, taking care of her family and her dog Katie, who has passed, and playing Dr. Mario and Tetris. She also loved shopping, especially at the Cumberland Mall, the Christmas Tree Shops, Evergreen Antiques and consignment shops.
She is survived by; two sons, Alan Barker of Deerfield Twp. and Michael Barker Sr. (Veronica) of Bridgeton; six siblings, David, Dennie, Joann, Ricky, Carolyn and Lois; three grandchildren, Michael Barker, Jr., Jessica Barker and Amanda Barker; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by; her parents, Lee and Beulah Ward, and her husband, Howard Barker.
Graveside services will take place at 11 AM at Fernwood Memorial Park, 794 Shiloh Pike, Bridgeton, NJ on Monday, August 4th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dorothy's name to an animal shelter of your choice.
