Mildred R. Zane

Mildred (Midge) Nichols Zane, 94, of Upper Deerfield Township and Pittsgrove, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. She was surrounded by loving family and the compassionate care of the Pitman Manor Assisted Living Facility.
She was born on March 26, 1931 in Deerfield, and graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1950. Prior to retirement, she managed Clark's Laundromat in Bridgeton for 27 years, and also worked 13 years at Woolworth's Department Store. She was a very active and lifetime member of the Deerfield United Methodist Church and a Church Trustee. She organized many joyful bus trips in support of the Church, including Lancaster, PA, Branson, MO, and Mackinac Island, MI.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Bob) T. Phillips (COL, US Army Ret.) and his wife Melinda E. Phillips of Kennett Square, PA. Her two grandchildren, Matthew H. Phillips, and Sara I. Phillips, and numerous loving friends and family.
She was predeceased by husbands, Harry W. Phillips, and Clarence R. Zane, and by son, Harry (Hank) C. Phillips. She was the last living child of the late David and Viola Nichols, being predeceased by brothers, David Nichols and William Nichols, and sisters, Dorothy (Dot) Olsen, Emma Setzer, and Dolores Williams.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14. It will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00, with burial and a luncheon immediately following. All will be held at the Deerfield United Methodist Church, 1557 Highway 77, Elmer, NJ 08318.
