David W. Holding, 90, of Cedarville, passed away at his home under the care of his family and hospice on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
The son of the late David B. Holding and Mildred Layton Holding, he had been the husband of the late Lillian B. Holding. He had been a life long resident of Cedarville and was a graduate of the Bridgeton High School class of 1953. David had served his country proudly as a member of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement he had owned and operated his family farm in Cedarville, DB Holding and Son. After he retired he decided to go back to working and had worked for Eastern Fresh Farms.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, keeping busy and hanging out in his shop with his coffee buddies. Most of all David was passionate about tractors, he spent much of his time building unique tractors with his grandson and then displaying them at tractor shows. He was a member of Rough and Tumble Engineers Historical Association located in Pennsylvania and the International Harvester Collectors Club Chapter 8.
He is survived by; his daughters, Donna L. Ecret (David) of Salem and Dianna L. Horner (Robert) of GA; grandchildren, David Ecret, Jr. (Jamie), Holly Christopher (Michael), Courtney Wilbanks (Noah) and Heidi Patton (Riley); and great grandchildren, Chase, Breanna, Brynley, Lainey and Ella. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Lillian B. Holding; parents, David B. and Mildred Holding; and his sisters, Harriet Blackman and Elsie Donaghay Nichols.
A visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11AM on Wednesday, September 17th at the PADGETT FUNREAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Graveside services will take place immediately following the visitation at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in David's memory be made to Lawrence Township EMS, 355 Main Street, Cedarville, NJ 08311.
