DOROTHY LOUISE BLACK was born November 7, 1940 in Bremond, Texas and passed away September 30, 2025. Preceded in death were her parents Bill and Rosie Sopchak Snider, brothers Jimmy, Grady and Richard Snider and sister, Augustine Snider Whitcomb. Also preceded in death was her husband, James F Black, Sr., sons, James F Black, Jr. and Curtis Lee Black. She is survived by brother, Tommy Snider and wife, JoNell, sisters, Evelyn Snider Cherry and Rosemary Snider Ochs. She is also survived by grandsons, Jeremy Black and wife, Meagan and Justin Black and wife, Karley and their son, Jayce Black, several nieces and nephews. She looked forward to visits from her late husbands family, Lynn and Bill and Linda and Jim and their families. Dorothy retired from Duke Energy where she worked as Purchasing Agent. In her leisure time she enjoyed quilting and sewing. Her great love was working in her beautiful yard where she grew fruits, vegetables and beautiful flowers. On vacations she spent time fishing for flounder in Galveston with friends. Dorothy was a great cook and enjoyed family celebrations.
