Dorothy Hefner Boucher, 98, of Baytown was born April 16, 1915, in Paris, IL and passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 in a local healthcare facility. She was a 1933 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and was a member of Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church and before that, a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 70 years, where she taught Sunday school and was a past president of both the Homemakers Sunday school class and the Grace United Methodist Church Women. She was also a member of the Goose Creek Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #798. She was the secretary for the Electricians Union Local in Baytown before becoming a state of Texas licensed beautician in 1954. She lost her mother at the age of nine and moved with her family to Texas at the age of 13. She was a great mother and being a child of the depression affected her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Helen Hefner; brother, Francis R. Hefner; husband, Walter H. Boucher; and sons-in-law, Virgil Emfinger, Jr. and Monroe Norris. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Helen and Gilbert Gerlich of Baytown and Barbara Norris of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Gwen Boucher of Houston; grandchildren and their spouses, J. Tracey and Lesa Hammon, Kevin W. and Debbie Hammon, Laura and Tim Estes, Sheryl Howell, Susan Emfinger and fiancé, Wesley Scott, and David Boucher; and seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Her family will receive friends Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church Pruett Campus, 304 N. Pruett St., Baytown, TX 77520 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Newsome and Rev. Luis Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church, 2714 Ferry Rd., Baytown, TX 77520. Her family would like to say a special "thank you" to Dr. Chris Hayes, the staff of Remington Park, and special friend, Nita Davis.
