Dorothy was born January 12, 1934, in
Marshfield, Wisconsin to August A. and Margaret M. (Beining) Schlagenhaft. She spent her early school years at St. John's Catholic School in Marshfield and attended Columbus High School.
On April 7 th , 1951, Dorothy joined in marriage to Sgt. Francis James Bremmer at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield. Dorothy and Francis were together 55 years until Francis passed away in 2007.
Dorothy's devotion to her Catholic faith directly guided her life, and in turn, her families' lives. Her support for her husband's military career was unbending. She moved her growing family twelve times in her husband's career, coming full circle back to Marshfield to live in the home she grew up in. As an expert seamstress she designed and created clothing for her children and grandchildren. She relished the opportunity to show off her talent with creations of stunning wedding gowns, American Beauty doll ensembles, as well as wardrobes for her daughters. Her mindfulness to detail made holiday celebrations and family reunions held at her home extra special. She always went the extra mile! Dorothy loved God's little ones-acknowledging each child she encountered for their individual uniqueness. In her life she enjoyed golf, the theater, bowling, travel, socializing with family and friends and never missed the opportunity to visit the casino. All will miss her contagious laughter and light-
hearted nature.
She is survived by her seven children: Diane Denesha of Cape Cod, MA, Terrance (Suzy) Bremmer of Indianapolis, IN, Thomas Bremmer of Stratford ,WI, Colleen (Paul) Coile of Dunnellon, FL, Pamela (Michael) Brownell of Buffalo, WY, La Vern (Linda) Bremmer of Chelsea, MI, and Cheryl (Matt) Schmeling of Pinckney, MI; 9 grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jennifer, Jaime, Katie, John, Francis, Celeste, Ann Marie, and Samantha; 6 great-grandchildren: Hayden, Sarah, Delainey, Henry, Alice and Emma.
