Dorothy A. Hahn, 89, Pittsville, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the House of the Dove Hospice in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 5, 2025 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville with Fr. Leo Raphael officiating. Interment will be next to her husband in St. Joachim Parish Cemetery in Pittsville. The family invites relatives and friends for visitation from 9:00 am until service time at the church.
Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dorothy was born on February 25, 1936 in Wisconsin Rapids to John and Ruby (Hanifin) Olsen. Her family operated the General store/gas station at eight corners in Vesper. She attended primary school in a one-room schoolhouse. She graduated from Maryheart High School Pittsville in 1954, and had worked at Consolidated Papers in Wisconsin Rapids for two years prior to her marriage.
On June 25, 1956 she married Marvin P. Hahn at St. James Church in Vesper. Together they operated a dairy farm in the town of Wood. In addition she worked at a cranberry marsh several seasons and had volunteered as an Election Worker for the town of Wood for several years.
Dorothy was an active member of the St. Joachim PCCW. She was selfless, giving, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition she loved gardening, flowers, cats, polka music, collecting recipes, and was an excellent cook who shared her talent with family and friends. Dorothy had a knack for remembering names, facts, and details of family history. She was a wonderful conversationalist. Holidays were special in the Hahn household. She was a devoted mother of 7, grandmother of 13, and great-grandmother of 16.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Kenneth Hahn of Pittsville, Sharon (Jerry) Reyes of Nekoosa, Susan (Jeff) Behr of Nekoosa, Jeff Hahn of Pittsville, Cindy (Jim) Knutson of Pittsville, and Michelle (Richard) Thiel of Pittsville. Thirteen grandchildren: Samantha, Mickenzie & Kate Hahn; Tiffany, Steve, & Brett Reyes; Dana Hahn; Becca Behr; Ryan Knutson; Jade Thiel. She is further survived by 16 great grandchildren: Cooper, Carson, Eleanore, Carolynn, Arthur, Dawson, Beckett, Lexi, Maci, Elias, Ozzie, Carter, Cayleigh, Steven, Xander, and Xavier; and, brothers-in-law: William (Kathy) Hahn Jr. of Pittsville, Richard (Nancy) Hahn of Deforest; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son Michael Hahn, and three grandchildren Nick Behr, Deric, and Desirae Hahn. Sister Eleanor O'Keefe, brother Richard Olsen.
The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt appreciation to the staff of House of the Dove for their compassionate care for Dorothy during her stay. The family would also like to thank special friends Marilyn Brandt, Terry Groshek, and special niece Sandy Hughes for all their kind-hearted devotion to Dorothy.
