Jane Bongers Fink Obituary

Jane M. Bongers Fink (Hoersch), age 70, peacefully began her next journey in the early morning hours of November 24, 2025, in Marshfield, WI. After meeting cancer with fierce grit, stubborn strength, and undeniable courage, she left this world surrounded by love. Though she could be tough as nails on the outside, those who truly knew her understood the big, loyal, generous heart she kept on the inside.
Born on December 5, 1954, in Kaukauna, WI, Jane was the fourth of five children of Benedict and Jeanette (DeBruin) Hoersch. A 1973 graduate of Kaukauna High School, she married Al Hietpas in 1974 and went on to work at several places throughout the Fox Valley - including Thilmany, Advanced Industries, and Mom's Café. Jane earned a reputation as someone who didn't sugarcoat anything, but always showed up with warmth, honesty, and a powerful work ethic. Though Jane and Al later divorced, their friendship endured until his passing earlier this year.
In 1985, she married her soulmate, Dave Bongers, and the two shared years filled with laughter and joy until his tragic passing in 1989. In 2001, Jane and her husband Clancy Fink moved to Auburndale, WI, where Jane found her next great chapter owning and operating Rangeline Bar. Her famous comebacks, sharp humor, and no-nonsense attitude made people love her all the more. Beneath that bold exterior, she welcomed anyone who needed a friend, a listening ear, or simply a seat at the bar.
Jane loved the simple things that made life fun: shooting pool, playing cribbage, the occasional casino trip, and cheering for the Packers, Brewers, Cubs, and Badgers.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Hoersch; her grandchildren, Kylee Kobel, and Ayden, Ayric, and Alex White; her siblings, Paula (Wayne) Micke and Jim Hoersch; and her nieces and nephews Tammy (Rick) Durofchalk, Joyce Riesterer, Tara (Shane) Adam, Kevin (Leah) Micke, Ryan (Tara) Micke, and Ashley Frederickson. She is also survived by close lifelong friends who became family - Jane Hess, Karen Hietpas, Dick and Bonnie Kloos, Todd & TJ, Laverne Kloos, and Eric Schermetzler - who loved her for exactly who she was.
Jane is now reunited in peace with Al, Dave, and Clancy; her parents; her siblings Mary Schneider and Jack Hoersch; and her beloved furbaby, Prince.
Jane's family extends heartfelt thanks to The House of the Dove and Compassus hospice staff for their compassionate care. A very special thank-you is given to Jane Hess for her unwavering love, presence, and devotion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield on Thursday, December 11, 2025 with visitation beginning at 10 am with a service at Noon. Father Douglas Robertson will officiate. Private interment will take place at St. Katherine Drexel Parish - St. Mary's Cemetery in Kaukauna at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The House of the Dove Hospice Center in Marshfield. Jane's spirit and warmth will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
