Irving Keough Obituary

Visit the Wichmann Funeral Home - Fargo website to view the full obituary.

Irving “Irv” Louis Keough, age 75 of Menasha, WI joined his heavenly kingdom on November 16, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born to Charles and Josephine (Tennessen) Keough on September 23, 1950 in Kaukauna, WI. After graduating from Kaukauna High School, he went to UW - LaCrosse and earned his Bachelors in Social Studies. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in education, making a positive impact molding the minds of high school students in his psychology and social studies classes. While teaching, Irv reconnected with his classmate Janet Knapp and were married in July of 1981, beginning an adventure of over forty years. The two loved to travel, especially to warmer climates.

If anything could be said of Irv, it would be that he was a man with a full schedule. Because of that, he had to be a careful planner for everything. He meticulously plotted out his schedule, carrying a notebook and pen with him at all times. Irv was also incredibly ambitious, sometimes taking on more than the average person would handle. Just a few of his hobbies and activities included golfing, performing theatre, singing in the church choir, watching and engaging in high school, college, and professional sports, and coaching cross country, track and field, and officiating multiple sports. Additionally, he was a very active member of the Kaukauna Lions Club. Yet somehow, through all of this, he still managed to find time for his faith, his family, and his friends. You could often find Irv out on the town enjoying breakfast and coffee at local diners. More than anything, though, Irv loved his family and cherished every moment he could spend with the people who meant the most to him.

Irv will be deeply missed by his wife Janet, son Skyler (Victoria), and by his sister Mary Jo (Mark) Ehle, and uncle Robert Knapp. He will also be missed by Bruce (Bonnie) Knapp, Paul (Mary) Knapp. Irv is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Irv is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Josephine Keough, infant sister Janet, and his best friend of forty years Tim Crowe, who preceded him on November 4th.

A funeral visitation will be held for Irv from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St, Kaukauna, WI 54130 with a mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Irv will be laid to rest at St. Mary Cemetery in Kaukauna, WI. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Paul’s Elders Services who helped Irv and many of our family members over the years (https://stpaulelders.org/). Or, go see Christmas Stars as they will be one star short this year (https://www.christmasstars.org/).

Irv’s family would like to extend a special thanks to all the health care workers at ThedaCare Appleton Medical Center, especially the intensive care unit for their excellent care.
