Dorothy Anne Dupire passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Dorothy was born on June 17, 1958 in Detroit to George and Margaret VanHuyse.
Being naturally selfless, Dorothy's main focus was on others. Dorothy pursued her education from Oakland University and Wayne State University attaining her Master's Degree. With this ticket in her pocket Dorothy entered the field of social work a career focused on the service to others. Dorothy spent many years helping others whether it be children with special needs in the intermediate school system or helping those less fortunate that had substance abuse issues in the less desirable areas of the city of Detroit. Dorothy's career was one dedicated to her love for others.
When she wasn't working Dorothy loved pursuing her love of travel. She and her family spent countless vacations at Disney World and their destinations also included Dominical Republic, Europe and other cities across the United States. When she wasn't traveling Dorothy could also be found pursuing her other passion...shopping. Her family would best describe her as a shopping extraordinaire. At home Dorothy also loved spending time with her cats.
Above all else Dorothy loved her family. Being a dedicated wife, mother and Nana was Dorothy's real passion. As her family expanded Dorothy never divided her love, she multiplied it. When her daughters came along there was equal love for them. When they both found their loves and married her love multiplied for her sons in law. When the grandkids came along there was equal love for them too. Her love for others was absolutely unmatched.
She is the beloved wife of 34 years of Paul. Loving mother of Hannah (Ian) Grant and Claire (Dominic) Corona. Very proud Nana of Liam, Georgia, and Lily Grant. Dearest sister of Sandy (Larry) Moore and the late Edwin (the late Yvonne) VanHuyse and the late Marvin (the late Karen) VanHuyse.

Dorothy,
For over fifty years you were in my life. I always knew you were there. I have more memories with you than I can possibly recount, but all of them are truly wonderful. You were the best friend anyone could ever ask for. I think about you all the time and miss you immensely. Forever in my heart
