Dorothy Jean Frost

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Frost, 84, of Columbus, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Cooper officiating. The family will greet friends at Way-Watson Funeral Home in Buena Vista on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 6:00-8:00PM.

Mrs. Frost was born in Peedee, SC, on November 17, 1940, to Gillian and Grace Barefoot Gainey. She was employed in Augusta, GA, as the Clerk of Court before her retirement. Mrs. Frost worked in Buena Vista at as the clerk County Gas for many years as well. She enjoyed genealogy and researched her family history extensively. Mrs. Frost was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Mauk. She loved to collect frogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Foster, by a sister, Doris Stephens, and by her beloved dog, Lady Frost.

She is survived by her husband, Obie Nolan Frost; by three sons, Randell Foster, Greg Foster (Dana), and Richard Frost; by a daughter, Vicki Horne; by a brother, Ralph Gainey and a sister, Jerry Gainey. Eight grandchildren, Jamie Foster, Joanna Foster, Brandon Foster, Jessica Otto, Clayton Horne, Mandi Horne, Laurie Skibbie, and Bailey McCammon and numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
