Dorothy V. Gemmill, 93, of Lititz, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at her home into Jesus' arms, with her family by her side.
She was born in Reading to the late Raymond and Marion (Merkey) Gingrich and was the wife of the late James C. Gemmill, who passed away in 2003.
Dorothy enjoyed flower gardening, taking walks, liked her game shows, and especially loved the days of shopping with her daughter.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Debra, wife of Jerry Weaver of Lititz; two grandchildren, Anthony, husband of Ashley Gemmill of CO, Andrew Gemmill of Ephrata; two step grandchildren, Michelle, wife of Cesar Santiago of Akron, Shane, husband of Heather Weaver of Ephrata; one great-grandchild, Maci; six step great-grandchildren, Alex, Kalina, Julianna, Cruz, Braxton and Wyatt; a sister, Grace Strickler of Myerstown, as well as nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, at New Life Fellowship, 420 E. Fulton Street, Ephrata. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, 10:30 am, at the church, with Pastor Duane Metzler officiating. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery Annex.
Memorial contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
