DOROTHY GIFFIN
Mrs. Dorothy Giffin of Okawville, IL departed this life at her residence on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 8:30 A.M. She had attained the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 1 day.
Dorothy was born in New York City on May 14, 1941, the daughter of Robert and Eulavee (nee House) Wallace. She was united in marriage to Ralph Giffin in Oaklawn, IL on November 25, 1967, and he preceded her in death on May 25, 2004.
Mrs. Giffin worked in the Garment District at St. Louis and later owned and operated the La Casa Restaurant in Freeburg, IL. She then worked at the Okawville Grade School and at the Nashville Senior Center in Nashville, IL until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Okawville.
Left to mourn her passing are her four children, Sherri Lynrasor, Latishia Hague and husband Patrick, Candi Toennies and husband Al, and Russell Giffin and wife Maury; five grandchildren, Amanda Moeller, Sheila Stone, Logan Smith, Brandon Giffin, and Jeremy Rasor; three great grandchildren, Lukhas, Lilli, and Lana; and a brother, Douglas Wallace and wife Roxy.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Private graveside services will be held in the St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Okawville with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
