Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend Dorothy Ann Gutter (née Gamponia) passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Born on December 24, 1942 in New Orleans, Louisiana Dorothy, also know as Dottie, moved to Staten Island, NY as a teenager where she remained a longtime resident. She graduated from Curtis High School, and was a long time parishioner of St. Charles R.C. Church, and Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church in her later years. She retired from the Visiting Nurse Association of Staten Island (VNASI) where she was a Patient Accounts Representative for over 30 years. While employed at VNASI she took great pride in being the shop steward for OPEIU Local 153. She enjoyed spending time with her family and trips to Atlantic City, NJ.
She was preceded by her husband Frank and her daughter Darlene. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Debra and Richard, Dorothy and Mike, Donna and Joe, Dawn and Ed, and her son Drew and is partner Tasha. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren Ashley, Joseph, Nicole, Michael, Alyssa, Bobby, Ariana, Sophia, Eddie, Alex, Erik, and Nick.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, April 21, 2023 from 4pm-8pm at Hanley's Funeral Home located at 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY, 10306. A mass will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Peace located at 61 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY at 9:30 am. The funeral will proceed to St. Peter's Cemetery located at 52 Tyler Avenue in Staten Island for her final rest.
