Dorothy E. Healy

Dorothy Healy, age 93, of Melrose, MA, passed away on November 18, 2025 in Danvers after a brief illness. Born in Lynn, MA, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Marguerite (Laughnan) Tansey. She was a graduate of St. Mary's Girls High School, Class of 1949, and earned an associate's degree from North Shore Community College.
Dorothy was a teacher's aide for the Lynn Public Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1997. She loved traveling through Europe and was a voracious e-book reader. Known for her generosity and kindness, she became affectionately known as "the floor mother" at The Residence at Melrose Station in Melrose, MA because of the care and concern she showed for those around her. Her greatest joy, however, came from spending time with her family.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Girard. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Girard and Nancy of Newton, MA; Christopher and Lucy of Melrose, MA; and Timothy and Janice of Exeter, NH. She also leaves seven grandchildren - Sonya Robicheau and her husband Patrick, and Caitlyn Dockery and her husband Neil, Christopher and his wife Kathleen, Blaise and his wife Nicolle, Conlin, Erin and Quin, and three great-grandchildren: Dorothy, Nolan, and Christopher.
Dorothy is also survived by her siblings, Anne Collier of Wakefield and Joseph Tansey of Lynn, her sister-in-law Janet Healy of Lynnfield along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Bill Tansey of Pennsylvania, James Tansey of Lynn, Jack Tansey of Connecticut and Roy Tansey of Lynn.
Her family wishes to acknowledge the extraordinary care she received at The Residence at Melrose Station in Melrose, MA and The Brentwood in Danvers, MA.
Services will be private. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield, MA. Those who wish may make donations to the Friends of Lynn Woods Rose Garden, PO Box 8216, Lynn, MA 01904. Arrangements entrusted to SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOMES, LYNN.
