Dorothy Macomber, 83, of Pottstown, passed away in her residence on December 5th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born in Stowe, PA to her parents Wes and Ruth Clark. She grew up there alongside her four sisters, the late Shirley Hanley, wife of Carl; Ruth Ann Haag, wife of Buster; Barbara Webb, wife of Bill; and her sole surviving sister, Mary (Judy) Clark.
Dorothy was a student at Pine Forge Academy and Boyertown High School. During this time, she met her husband, George Macomber Sr. Together, they shared three children: Jim Macomber of Shoemakersville, husband of Donna; Linda Macomber of Pottstown; and George Macomber Jr. of North Coventry, husband of Denise. Dorothy was a loving motherly figure to all of her children, as well as to Wanda Schaffer and Sherry Wampole, with whom she remained very close all of her life. She was also blessed with six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by everyone in her family and all those who knew her.
Dorothy's funeral service will be held Saturday, December 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at Warker-Troutman Funeral Home with interment at Limerick Garden of Memories to follow. A viewing will be held the morning of the funeral from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Warker-Troutman Funeral Home is honored to assist the Macomber family.
