Dorothy was a farmer's wife for 68 years of her life. She worked side by side with Bud out on the farm and provided meals when necessary. Dorothy loved baking; she especially excelled in making apple slices. Dorothy was a member of the Amarillo Star line dancing group. She was also a member of the Woodrow Wilson class of 1948 reunion committee. Most of all she loved her family. She loved watching the grandkids when they were young, and being with the great-grandchildren and attending their sporting events when she was able to be there. She also took great pride in hosting family gatherings, especially the Matthys Christmas Eves which included her nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank Kathy B, Debbie H, Barbara L, Roxanne S, and Renee G. for their exceptional care and compassion for Dorothy.
