Dorothy Jean McCoy

Dorothy Jean Wilkerson McCoy passed away peacefully at her home in Vallejo, California, on October 16, 2025, with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Vallejo on March 8, 1956, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

A 1974 graduate of Benicia High School, Dorothy devoted more than 40 years of her life to a career in the healthcare industry, where she was known for her kindness, professionalism, and caring spirit. She worked for many years as a manager and receptionist at Family Doctor Medical Group in Vallejo and later at Solano Dermatology.

Dorothy had a deep love for life and simple joys. She cherished time spent traveling to Disneyland, tending to her garden, and being on or near the water. Her warmth, laughter, and love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 50 years, Jimmy McCoy; her daughter, Jessica McCoy-Pompa, and son-in-law, Theo Pompa; her brothers, Richard and Edward Wilkerson; her sister, Linda Dew; and her beloved grandchildren, Jaide, Logan, and Gavin McCoy-Pompa. She was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda West, in 2008.

In accordance with her wishes, services will be private.
