Jacob Robert Dortch

Jacob Robert Dortch, a beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend, born March 2, 2002, passed away on December 8, 2025. Jacob left a light in the world that will never be forgotten. Born to Marc Lopez and Jenessa Holland, and cherished as a stepson by Ryan Holland and Shawnda Lopez, Jacob grew up in Benicia surrounded by a circle of love that shaped his generous, spirited heart. He was the adored grandson of Robert and Debra Dortch and the proud sibling of Lorenzza, Kayla, Marc, Bella, and Cyara. Each of whom he loved fiercely and protected endlessly.

A gifted athlete, Jacob made his mark as a football star at Benicia High School and excelled in wrestling and baseball. His energy, drive, and determination made him a force on the field and on the mat an inspiration to his teammates. But Jacob's talents reached far beyond athletics. He was a writer, a creator, and a naturally gifted musician-singing, producing, and crafting music that expressed his heart in a way words alone never could.

Jacob had a magnetic presence. He loved to laugh, make others laugh, and was well-known for his playful jokes and hyper, joyful spirit and his wonderful smile. To his friends, he was loyal and uplifting; to his family, he was loving, kind, funny, and full of a warmth that made every room brighter. He lived with passion, imagination, and a genuine love for the people around him.

Those who knew Jacob will remember his creativity, his humor, his infectious energy and smile, and the way he made everyone feel seen and valued. Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made is lasting and profound. His memory will forever inspire the many hearts he touched.
