Robert Lloyd Olsen

Robert Lloyd "Bob" Olsen passed away peacefully at his home in Benicia, California, on February 2, 2026. He was 74 years old.

Bob was born on September 19, 1951, in San Francisco, California. Bob built a long and respected career as an aircraft mechanic, dedicating more than 30 years to the aviation industry. He began his career with Northwest Airlines and later retired from Pratt & Whitney, where his skill, reliability, and work ethic were deeply valued. Toward the end of his career, Bob went back to school to continue his education and studies; he got his Associate in Science degree from City College of San Francisco in 1996 and then a degree in Paralegal Studies from JFK University in 2011.

Outside of work, Bob had many passions. He was an avid car collector who appreciated vehicles of all kinds, proudly owning treasures such as a Model A and a red Corvette. He was also an accomplished trumpet player and enjoyed sharing his love of music. Bob had a true love for food-especially pizza and burritos-and was well known for his sweet tooth. He enjoyed relaxing at home watching television and was always closely following legal cases and politics, a pastime that kept his curious and analytical mind engaged.

Above all else, Bob was known for his kind, giving, and loving nature. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He also had a special affection for his Great Pyrenees dogs, which held a dear place in his heart.

Bob is survived by Lisa, his dedicated wife of 39 years; his son Bobby Olsen and daughter-in-law Hillary; his daughter Christie Sattler and son-in-law Russell; his sister Susie Markovich and brother-in-law Frank and sister Judy Fischer (deceased), as well as his cherished grandchildren Audrey, Candice, Austin, Tessa, and Terry.

Graveside services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette, California.

Bob will be remembered for his generosity, gentle spirit, and deep love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, craftsmanship, and warmth that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
