Dorothy I. Mikolajczyk, 88, a long-time resident of Sunbury, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025, surrounded by her family at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

Dorothy was born on Jan. 27, 1937, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Daniel I. and Alva M. (Bucher) Zerbe. She was married to Victor M. Mikolajczyk, who preceded her in death. Dorothy was a graduate of Sunbury High School. Although Dorothy was a homemaker who took great pride in maintaining her family and home, she was employed over the years with Beiter's, Ames and the First Presbyterian Church of Sunbury.

Mikolajczyk was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sunbury.

She loved playing Bingo, taking trips to casinos, shopping, and as a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #503, Dorothy enjoyed playing darts. Above all else, though, Dorothy received the greatest pleasure in spending time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, a son, and two sons-in-law; Debra Mikolajczyk and Robert Chase of Parkville, Md., Sharon Mikolajczyk of Sunbury, Jacqueline and Edward Weiss, of Northumberland, and Douglas and Brandy Fessler of Sunbury; six grandchildren, Matthew, David, Joshua, Justine, Aaron and Trent; her four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Kay Zerbe, of Sunbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Mikolajczyk, in 1977, a brother, Joseph Zerbe, in 2024, and a great-granddaughter, Layla, in 2014.

A Celebration of Dorothy's life will be conducted by the family at a later date.
