Dorothy J. Nico, 77 of Watertown, passed away with her family by her side on March 20,2025, at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.
Dorothy was born on April 2, 1947, in Oshkosh, the daughter of Harvey and Donna (Schaefer) Dumdie. For over 30 years, Dorothy worked as a CNA at Bethesda Lutheran Homes in Watertown providing excellent care to the residents there. She continued her care for others into her later life and enjoyed the company of friend Ally while her mother was at work. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed reading and watching the Packers, Badgers or Brewers play. She liked NASCAR races, and her favorite racer was Matt Kenseth. Dorothy was a strong woman who above all else treasured her family and spent as much time with them as she could.
Dorothy is survived by: her children Caralee Hayes, Shawn (Jenny) Nico, and Jennifer; grandchildren Anthony, Jeremiah, Tyler, Jonathan, Bailey, Damon, Justyce, and Jadelynn; and great-granddaughter Lillian. Dorothy is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and former spouse Arthur.
A Memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Watertown with Rev. Aaron Reseburg presiding. Visitation will be held from 4:30 PM until the time of service at the church.
