Our beloved Dorothy Harrington Reagan, 100, of Titusville passed away on Sunday, November 9th, 2025.
Dorothy was born on July 27, 1925, in Youngsville, PA to Grace (Martindale) Harrington and Gerald Harrington. She married Robert (Bob) Reagan on April 24, 1947.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, class of 1943.
At the age of 17, through a family friend from church, Dorothy began working as secretary for state representative Roland Mahaney until she married. She then became a homemaker, raising her four children. She and Bob moved the family to Hollywood, Florida in 1959. They returned to Titusville in 1982 after Bob's retirement, moving to Oak Street where she lived until her passing.
Dorothy had an extraordinary artistic talent. Her house was filled with sketches, watercolors, and oil paintings and she enjoyed gifting these treasures to her loved ones. Learning to knit at age 7 allowed her a pastime which she cherished in her later years, even recently teaching this skill to her great granddaughter, Allison. In the last number of years, Dorothy knitted washcloths which she donated to Love Inc. The holidays saw intricate creations of snowflakes, angels, and wreaths. She also had a love of gardening. Her knack for cultivating flowers and plants was a delight for her and those who enjoyed them. At one time, Dorothy was a member of the Titusville Garden Club. She had a curiosity for knowledge and was very interested in the world around her and its history. She eagerly shared what she learned. Dorothy loved big band music. Her favorite song being "Racing to the Moon" by Vaughn Monroe. She also found enjoyment in traveling and experienced many journeys with her family. Her 'no no' cake, groundhog and pineapple cookies, Easter bunny cake, and especially her sugar cookies at Christmas will be missed.
Dorothy lived independently until the age of 97 when her daughters returned to Titusville to care for her. She found joy sitting on her front porch spending afternoons in her rocking chair filling her time with crossword puzzles, word searches, and of course knitting. She will be dearly missed.
Dorothy is survived by her four children: Christine Wig of Titusville, Sue Reagan of Seattle, WA, Nancy Reagan of Cincinnati, OH, and Richard Reagan and companion Kathy Smith of Cincinnati, OH; half-sisters, Donna Corklin and husband John, Patricia Birtciel and husband Will, Mary Ellen Reinhardt and husband Craig; half-brother, Joe Harrington and wife Jolene; grandchildren Ann Jaco and husband Chad, Jennifer Wig and partner Jay Catalucci, Amanda Wig and companion Bob Kenny, Christopher Reagan, Katie Reagan; great grandchildren, Allison and Noah Jaco, and Conner, Caden, and Cameron Cornett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Harrington and Grace (Martindale) Harrington; husband, Robert Reagan; step mother, Viola Harrington; brothers, James Harrington, William Marshall Harrington, and Thomas Harrington; and son-in-law, Donald Wig.
A private memorial service will be held by the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 S. Main Street, Seneca, PA 16346, or the Titusville Area Food Bank, 134 W. Central Avenue, Titusville, PA 16354.
