Dorothy Morrison Rodriguez
Dorothy Morrison Rodriguez, 79, gained her angel wings on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 after a long battle with leukemia. She was born on August 19, 1942, in Isaban, West Virginia to James Luther and Margaret Mildred Morrison. Dorothy was a lover of the Lord and was devoted to her prayer and spiritual life. She enjoyed Christian music and shared her love of music as a member of the "Agin' Cajuns" senior choir through her membership with First Baptist Church of Sulphur. Dorothy played piano and often played for her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and tell everyone that she was a coal miner's daughter from West Virginia. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and reminiscing of times they'd travelled together and the memories they'd made along the way.
Dorothy is survived by her three children, Angela "Angie" Thompson (Tony) of Ragley, Sandra Bauer (Bill) of Carlyss and Wayne Bass (Trudy) of Moss Bluff; one sister, Renatha Woodard of Milton, West Virginia; brother, Leonard Morrison of Milton, West Virginia; seven grandchildren, Jay Frost, Jr. (Jessica) of Cumberland, Maryland, Heather Sonnier (Cody) of Sulphur, Christopher Frost of Cumberland, Maryland, William Frost (Katelyn) of Sulphur, Fallon Rogers of Ragley, Caleb Bass (Madison) of Ragley, and Hannah Bray (Liam) of Nova Scotia, Canada, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Jacob Allen Bass and her brothers, Marvin Morrison, Louis Morrison, Bobby Morrison, and Grady Morrison.
Memorial services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 12 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 10 AM until the time of service. There will be a reception after the service at the funeral home until 2 PM.
