It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Kathryn Smith, 97, beloved grandmother, mother, sister, and aunt. She went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2025.
Dorothy worked at Emerson Electric as an executive assistant for 31 years. She was a member of the Arkansas Methodist hospital auxiliary and of the First United Methodist Church, and was an accomplished seamstress. She loved caring for her children and grandchildren, walking around her neighborhood, and playing scrabble and cards with her friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Wade (Charlie), Carol Foster (Curtis); granddaughters, Lori Myers (Fred), Chrissy Sain (Chris), and grandsons, Levi Myers, Luke Myers, Landon Sain, Logan Sain; step-granddaughter, Dawn Lobbes (Matt) and step-grandson, John Wade (Cerise); and five grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Emma (Bibb) White; sisters, Selma Highfill, Ruth Shoopman, Alvie White Textor, Bernice Holland, Geraldine Bentz; and brother, Gene White.
Visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Thursday, March 13 at 11:00 AM, with the service to follow at 12:00 PM.
