Mary Diane Burton, a cherished mother and beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 27, 1958, in South Haven, Michigan, Mary embodied the essence of love, compassion, and dedication throughout her life.
As a devoted homemaker, Mary excelled in creating a warm and inviting home for her family. Her passion for baking was unmatched; she was renowned for her extraordinary pies-especially her delectable chocolate and apple varieties as well as her strawberry cheesecake. Her grandchildren fondly recall her chocolate chip cookies as the best they've ever tasted, while her homemade brown gravy and meatballs were the highlight of many family gatherings. Mary's culinary creations were a testament to her love, and her kitchen was a sanctuary of comfort and joy.
Mary was the heart of her family, and she relished every moment spent hosting gatherings that brought her loved ones together. She created a space where laughter and memories flourished, and family visits were the highlight of her weekends. Her grandchildren spent many cherished weekends at her home, where they were lovingly spoiled and showered with affection.
Mary is survived by her children, Kevin (Tonya) Decker, Robin (Tammy) Decker, Jr., Frances (James) Sharp, Lisa Sharp, Jeremy (Megan Belanger) Page, Jerry Anna Page, and Amber Page; sixteen grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Her family will carry her legacy of love and kindness in their hearts. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary LaFond; husband, Dewayne Burton; and daughter, Tina Burton.
Funeral services to honor Mary's life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Heath Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service celebrating her life at 2:00 PM. Mary will be laid to rest at Mt. Home Cemetery.
In this time of remembrance, family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
