Max A. Sass & Sons Funeral and Cremation Greenridge Chapel - GreenfieldDorothy Smith (née Schultz) passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 80. After nearly 60 years of marriage, she is now reunited with her beloved husband, Kent G. Smith. Dorothy leaves behind a cherished legacy, survived by her dear brother, Kenneth “Ken” Schultz and his wife Barbara. She is also fondly remembered by her brother-in-law, Neil "Bud" Smith, and his wife, Kay, as well as by her sister-in-law, Rochelle “Ro” Sergeant. Dorothy’s love extended to her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many other relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Gilbert and Hattie, her devoted husband, Kent, and her sister, Rita Voelkner and Rita’s husband Dennis. The memories she created and the love she shared with her family and friends will endure in their hearts forever.
Dorothy was a remarkably creative individual who found great joy in sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Her talents were not reserved solely for herself or her family; instead, she generously shared the fruits of her labor with those in need. Many of Dorothy’s handmade creations were thoughtfully donated to local animal shelters and children’s hospitals, reflecting both her compassion and her desire to make a positive impact in her community
A memorial gathering will be held at Max A. Sass & Sons-Greenridge Chapel (4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield) on Sunday, December 7th starting at 10AM until time of memorial service at 12:15PM.
