Dorothy Phyllis Spawn, age 93, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at River Grand Assisted Living in Grand Rapids, MN. She was born in Lincoln, MN to John and Sigrid Larson. On November 21, 1953, Dorothy married Herbert Spawn in Zion Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. They lived in Goodland, MN on their farm where they raised their family. Dorothy was a true farmers wife with a love of cooking for her family, driving the tractor, working on the farm, and tending to the animals. The family has fond memories of her fresh baked bread and chocolate cakes. Dorothy loved sewing, visiting with her family, enjoying her large garden, and canning the fruits of her labor.

Preceded in death by her husband Herb; infant son Jackie; parents, John (Sigrid) Larson; and her siblings, Pearl Larson, Kenneth Larson, Lorraine Koski, and Milo Larson.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Jeff ( Debra) and Warren (Cherie) Spawn; daughters, Sheri (Jeff) LeSarge and Valerie (Michael) Bielecki; her grandchildren, Angela (Gary) Stoltz, Eric (Becky) Spawn, Janet Marie (Stephan) McCartney, Tasha (Andy) Klockow, Adam (Bobi) LeSarge, Nicholas (Anna) Bielecki, Christopher Bielecki, and Timothy Bielecki; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Leppanen.

The family would like to thank the staff at River Grand Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice for their excellent care. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
