Dorothy Louise Stow, 88, of Good Samaritan Retirement Center, Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 11, 1937 in Davenport, Iowa, to W. J. Bryan and Ann Elizabeth (Holtam) Semones.
She graduated from Davenport High School in Davenport, Iowa with the class of 1956.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard A. "Dick" Stow on November 29, 1968 in Hutchinson. They were married almost 53 years before his passing on October 28, 2021.
She accepted the Lord at age 31 with Dick's encouragement and guidance.
She was an active member of the Young at Hearts and for many years served as secretary, sending out lots of cards for many different occasions.
One year after Dick's passing, she sold their farm and lived independently until now.
Dorothy enjoyed reading and gardening.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary E. McAlearney, and her children, Steve McAlearney and Sheryl McAlearney.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother-in-law, Phil McAlearney.
Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Buhler East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Young at Hearts in care of Buhler Mortuary, PO Box 589, Buhler, KS 67522.
