Dorothy M. Turunen
Poultney-Dorothy May Turunen, 94, of Poultney, died on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the Pines in Rutland.
She was born February 6, 1931, in Rutland, the daughter of George T. and Dorothy (Barker) Dumas.
Mrs. Turunen had been employed for many years at the Rutland Regional Medical Center in Housekeeping and then by Turunen Truck and Equipment Repair in East Poultney.
Mrs. Turunen was a member of the Episcopal Church in Rutland where she also sang in the choir. She was a former member of 4H of Rutland, Loyal order of Moose of Claremont, the Claremont American Legion auxiliary and the Eagles club of Fair Haven.
She enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, country music and playing cards.
Survivors include 2 sons, James Webster of Claremont, NH, and David Webster of West Rutland; a stepson Pete Turunen of East Poultney, a brothers Ed Dumas of Rutland; 2 sisters Lola Farkas of Poultney(Florida) and Janice Dumas, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandsons, a great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Richard Webster in 1976 and Peter Turunen in 2008; a daughter Carol Ann Webster in April 2008, 2 sons Cecil Webster in 2013 and Irving Webster, a great grandson, a sister Gertrude Webster and Marguerite Tronzo and 3 brother Gerald Dumas in 2018, George Dumas and Robert Dumas.
Graveside services will be held at East Clarendon Cemetery.
The funeral is under the direction of the Durfee Funeral Home.
